The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The audience thought a goal was coming when Claudiu Răducanu got free with Jerzy Sidorowicz in the 3rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 8th minute Rodrigo Cambranes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lütfü Öktemer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. MARAZZINO's Lütfü Öktemer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Acácio de Godoi in the 10th minute of play. Claudiu Răducanu received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Jerzy Sidorowicz came out and tried to block the shot, but Claudiu Răducanu slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 18th minute. Jerzy Sidorowicz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Claudiu Răducanu in the 21st minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Claudiu Răducanu got free with Jerzy Sidorowicz in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A throw-in in the 29th minute of the game was made by Natalio Gonzales with Mauro Boselli as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. After a rather tough play, MARAZZINO's Jeronimo Heriberto got a free kick in the 31st minute. Lütfü Öktemer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mario Colon in the 79th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Claudiu Răducanu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jerzy Sidorowicz was relentless in the 79th minute of the game. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dacian Zburliş in the 82nd managed to get into a good position.
