Daniel Löfgren who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 40thth minute tested the skills of Karl-Erik Norström when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The audience thought a goal was coming when Iulian Berceanu got free with Karl-Erik Norström in the 42nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The audience was convinced that James Batistuta's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Karl-Erik Norström was relentless in the 43rd minute of the game. After 43 minutes, James Batistuta made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. Skövde AIK's Karl-Erik Norström tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot.
