To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Larry Hallam might have been able to make a better finish in the 12th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Leonardo Da Vinci. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Larry Hallam ran back to his position shaking his head. Malta's Leonardo Da Vinci played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Larry Hallam in the 15th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 24th minute, John Lennon managed to get in a good position for a shot. Malta's supporters rose to their feet, but John Lennon was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Caleb Barrett breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 32 minutes into the match, Andorra's goal looked a bit too open when John Lennon came free, but Caleb Barrett reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Caleb Barrett made a fantastic save in the 34th minute, when Antonio Navarro sent off a good shot on target. If Larry Hallam had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Leonardo Da Vinci made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Larry Hallam in the 46th minute of play. In the 47th match minute, Malta was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Giovanni Demicoli to maneuver through the defense. Leonardo Da Vinci took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Larry Hallam, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Larry Hallam to strike the kick off in the second half. Leonardo Da Vinci made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cucu Fernández in the 52nd minute of play. Malta's Leonardo Da Vinci proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 57th minute of the match, managed to save Malta from getting a goal against them. Andorra's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
