The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The audience was convinced that Victor Chan's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Marcelo Barovero was relentless in the 5th minute of the game. In a very dangerous position, a player in Redbourn AFC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 12th minute. Penalty! The goalkeeper, Afiz Teo, was totally fooled by Lobos de Carelia's Ismael Tauro, who 13 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. 16 minutes into the match, Redbourn AFC's goalkeeper Afiz Teo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Zeca Fernandez. The audience thought a goal was coming when Zeca Fernandez got free with Afiz Teo in the 23rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 25th minute, Zeca Fernandez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Zeca Fernandez fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lobos de Carelia's protests and gave Zeca Fernandez a yellow card for diving instead. After 26 played minutes Lobos de Carelia got a freekick which was hit by Zeca Fernandez. Marcelo Barovero took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Victor Chan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Redbourn AFC defense, Zeca Fernandez kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Afiz Teo. The Redbourn AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Afiz Teo should have stopped the shot. In the 36th minute, Lobos de Carelia's Gabriel Efraim dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-1. 43 minutes into the game, Victor Chan cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-2. Marcelo Barovero was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Zeca Fernandez struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Afiz Teo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lobos de Carelia. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-2 at half-time.
An unexpectedly hard shot by Zeca Fernandez in the 52nd minute of play forced Redbourn AFC's goalkeeper Afiz Teo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Danial Koh sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Lobos de Carelia's Gabriel Efraim in the 56th minute got a chance for a shot 56th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 65 minutes into the match, Redbourn AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Gabriel Efraim came free, but Afiz Teo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 67th minute Danial Koh shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcelo Barovero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marcelo Barovero took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Danial Koh, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 70 minutes into the match, Lobos de Carelia's goal looked a bit too open when Victor Chan came free, but Marcelo Barovero reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Afiz Teo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 95th match minute, Lobos de Carelia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gabriel Efraim to maneuver through the defense. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Lobos de Carelia fans cheered their team off the field, for while Redbourn AFC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
