If Basarab Achimescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- booed when -BZF- Barca de Buzau was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felix Vorniceanu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Maxim Strugure hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. Nae Costin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manuel Șora in the 19th minute of play. Mihai Negara's late challenge caught a -BZF- Barca de Buzau's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mihai Negara helped the player get up and apologised. Nae Costin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aurel Ionașcu, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Emanuel Stanca took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nicodim Voiculescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 35th minute, Darius Olaru ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Nae Costin was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Nae Costin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manuel Șora in the 38th minute of play. Nae Costin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Manuel Șora, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With 43 minutes on the clock, Șerban Guguianu commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. 42 minutes into the game, one of Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave -BZF- Barca de Buzau a penalty, 45 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Gheorghe Crăiniceanu, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s Nae Costin. 0-2. In the 48th minute, Aurel Ionașcu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. -BZF- Barca de Buzau were winning 0-2.

52 minutes into the match, Aurel Ionașcu dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Nae Costin, 0-3. Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s Nae Costin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aurel Ionașcu in the 55th minute of play. In the 57th minute, -BZF- Barca de Buzau's Darius Olaru dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-4. Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s Nae Costin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manuel Șora in the 62nd minute of play. -BZF- Barca de Buzau were awarded a corner in the 64th minute after Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Gheorghe Crăiniceanu took the corner. Darius Olaru could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 70th minute of the match, but Nae Costin made a huge save. After a defensive mix-up in Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s zone, Aurel Ionașcu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nae Costin came out of the goal and Aurel Ionașcu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. -BZF- Barca de Buzau's Anton Otețea was substituted for Aurel Ionașcu. Basarab Achimescu kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. In the 80th match minute, Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nicodim Voiculescu to maneuver through the defense. Manuel Șora could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but Nae Costin made a huge save. After a rather tough play, -BZF- Barca de Buzau's Basarab Achimescu got a free kick in the 82nd minute. 84 minutes into the match, Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s goal looked a bit too open when Anton Otețea came free, but Nae Costin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nae Costin made an important save on a dangerous shot by Manuel Șora in the 86th minute. Manuel Șora spun around in front of the goal 86 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s goal. -BZF- Barca de Buzau made a substitution. Iulian Taşcu replaced Manuel Șora. -BZF- Barca de Buzau's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
