After 28 played minutes MCB Timisoara 1921 BTV got a freekick which was hit by Liviu Frumușanu. Dinu Oardă showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kenneth Aukes, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Victor Lucila received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Aden Couzens came out and tried to block the shot, but Victor Lucila slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 36th minute. After having played for 38 minutes, Victor Lucila managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. MCB Timisoara 1921 BTV's supporters crossed their fingers, but Victor Lucila was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 41 minutes into the game, one of MCB Timisoara 1921 BTV:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Victor Lucila to make the kick off.
