The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Helder Marty showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After recieving a nice pass, SC Braga's Pedro Avelar tried to score from far away in the 9th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. The shot was stopped by Helder Marty but with some difficulty. Albérico Vilaverde made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ariando Belda in the 14th minute of play. Albérico Vilaverde took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Angelo Maujo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of ◄◄Lucas Cerro Largo►► booed when SC Braga was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pedro Avelar didn't get a good kick on the ball. 25 minutes into the game, Moisés Álvares was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SC Braga's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave ◄◄Lucas Cerro Largo►► the free kick. Moisés Álvares hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. Angelo Maujo took the ball and in the 26 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Albérico Vilaverde. Albérico Vilaverde dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. In the 32nd minute, Francisco Bettencourt made a precise shot to the right of Helder Marty. ◄◄Lucas Cerro Largo►►'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Mercurio Unanue hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. Helder Marty showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cássio Osório, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. When Mercurio Unanue fell near the penalty area in the 90th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored ◄◄Lucas Cerro Largo►►'s protests and gave Mercurio Unanue a yellow card for diving instead. Mercurio Unanue hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
