In the 5th minute the ball was on its way in behind Śląsk Katowice's goalkeeper Antoni Walaszkiewicz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 9th minute of the match Go Ahead Eagles got a corner. Śląsk Katowice's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Dani Maranhense ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Śląsk Katowice's goalie and right to Iustin Bâru. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Śląsk Katowice's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by King 张林鹏 in the 14th minute of play forced Śląsk Katowice's goalkeeper Antoni Walaszkiewicz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 16 minutes, Abe Habenicht mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Śląsk Katowice and the Go Ahead Eagles players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Śląsk Katowice getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Abe Habenicht hit a great ball. Go Ahead Eagles's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Dani Maranhense in the 24th minute. Miltos Margaritidis hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Iustin Bâru in the 29th minute of play forced Śląsk Katowice's goalkeeper Antoni Walaszkiewicz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Antoni Walaszkiewicz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Iustin Bâru's shot from short distance in the 31st minute. 32 minutes had been played when some careless play by Śląsk Katowice's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Dani Maranhense was slow to take the kick. During this time Go Ahead Eagles's players had a chance to rest. In the 32nd match minute, Go Ahead Eagles was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Iakovos Efthimiadis to maneuver through the defense. When Iakovos Efthimiadis got the opportunity to take care of a free kick it resulted in a really dangerous shot that almost went in the goal. Instead the ball went too high, a missed opportunity for Go Ahead Eagles. Antoni Walaszkiewicz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Iustin Bâru in the 39th minute of play. In the 40thth minute of the game Iustin Bâru who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Śląsk Katowice's Antoni Walaszkiewicz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Antoni Walaszkiewicz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Iustin Bâru went, in the 42nd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. After a rather tough play, Śląsk Katowice's Jan Awizo got a free kick in the 44th minute. Iustin Bâru recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Iustin Bâru in the 47th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Antoni Walaszkiewicz saved Śląsk Katowice from getting behind. A collision led to Go Ahead Eagles getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Miltos Margaritidis hit a great ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Teofil Rzegotka stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 51 played minutes Go Ahead Eagles got a freekick which was hit by Panos Karagoutis. The audience thought a goal was coming when Abe Habenicht got free with Scarafia Ghost in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 54th minute, Iustin Bâru got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Antoni Walaszkiewicz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Iustin Bâru's shot from short distance in the 56th minute. Antoni Walaszkiewicz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from King 张林鹏, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Go Ahead Eagles fans' excitement grew in the 66th match minute when Go Ahead Eagles's Iustin Bâru looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Go Ahead Eagles made a substitution. Fernando Amorebieta replaced Manga Mangkudikusumah. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Iustin Bâru in the 70th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Antoni Walaszkiewicz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Abe Habenicht who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 74thth minute tested the skills of Scarafia Ghost when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 76 minutes into the game, Iustin Bâru cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Antoni Walaszkiewicz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Iustin Bâru sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 87 minutes into the match, Śląsk Katowice's goal looked a bit too open when Iustin Bâru came free, but Antoni Walaszkiewicz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Go Ahead Eagles's Iustin Bâru in the 88th minute got a chance for a shot 88th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Śląsk Katowice's goalie prevented a goal. 90 minutes into the game, Fernando Amorebieta cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 6-0. Antoni Walaszkiewicz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Go Ahead Eagles walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
