Seating: 2369, VIP seats: 206) Virgilio Rojas came out of the goal in the 4th minute to try and stop a shot by Italy's Enzo Luongo. But to his dismay, Enzo Luongo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Virgilio Rojas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristoforo Daniele, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. In the 9th minute, Cristoforo Daniele hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Virgilio Rojas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Enzo Luongo in the 11th minute of the match. In the 23rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Costa Rica's goalkeeper Virgilio Rojas, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 23 minutes into the match, Enzo Luongo notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Costa Rica's Virgilio Rojas. Virgilio Rojas was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Bruno Antognoni made an important save on a dangerous shot by Leo Calvo in the 25th minute. 28 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Bar Olo came free, but Virgilio Rojas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A sloppy throw-in by Enzo Luongo in the 30th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Costa Rica's Wilmer Guadamuz. Virgilio Rojas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bar Olo in the 31st minute of play. The supporters of Italy booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wilbert Ugalde didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 38th minute, Enzo Luongo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Virgilio Rojas was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. Costa Rica's Virgilio Rojas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristoforo Daniele in the 40th minute of play. In the 44th minute of the game Marco Martinez made a throw-in which Leo Calvo played forward. The Costa Rica players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Italy were winning 1-3.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bar Olo to make the kick off. Enzo Luongo's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 51stth minute, Virgilio Rojas skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. 52 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Cristoforo Daniele came free, but Virgilio Rojas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Italy's Bruno Antognoni played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leo Calvo in the 53rd minute of play. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Virgilio Rojas prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Bruno Antognoni stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Miguel Campos's shot from short distance in the 65th minute. Costa Rica's Mauricio Cartin was substituted for Wilmer Guadamuz. Donato Zoccolo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Virgilio Rojas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 74 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Aldo Di Carlo came free, but Virgilio Rojas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 83 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goalkeeper Virgilio Rojas had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cristoforo Daniele. Virgilio Rojas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aldo Di Carlo in the 86th minute of the match. In the 88th minute Donato Zoccolo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Virgilio Rojas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Virgilio Rojas made a fantastic save in the 90th minute, when Aldo Di Carlo sent off a good shot on target. Virgilio Rojas made an important save on a dangerous shot by Aldo Di Carlo in the 94th minute.
