After a defensive mix-up in HIT Gorica's zone, Preben Halden stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lan Šorli came out of the goal and Preben Halden tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Lan Šorli showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tor-Egil Arntsen in the 46th minute of the match. The Brufoss IL players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. HIT Gorica were winning 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Duško Turnšek stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 55 minutes into the game, Bendik Strande was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Brufoss IL's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave HIT Gorica the free kick. Lan Šorli was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 80th minute, Duško Turnšek got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 84th minute, Grozdan Mešić hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Preben Halden received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Lan Šorli tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Zlato Gorišek during the 88th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 88 played minutes HIT Gorica got a freekick which was hit by Zlato Gorišek. HIT Gorica's Mitar Čebulj suffered a concussion after 89 minutes and had to leave the field. When Kim-André Valle fell near the penalty area in the 89th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Brufoss IL's protests and gave Kim-André Valle a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of HIT Gorica booed when Brufoss IL was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kim-André Valle didn't get a good kick on the ball.
