Unicorns ™'s goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 7 minutes into the match, Unicorns ™'s goal looked a bit too open when Dinei Brito came free, but Corneliu Vulpăşin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match had gone on for 8 minutes, Ronaldo Pirani put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Corneliu Vulpăşin. Iulian Buciu kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Perivaldo Gerber during the 15th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Perivaldo Gerber hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. The audience was convinced that Nelsinho Marinho's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Corneliu Vulpăşin was relentless in the 18th minute of the game. The supporters of Palestra do Interior booed when Unicorns ™ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Codrin Boc didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nelsinho Marinho in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Corneliu Vulpăşin prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Perivaldo Carneiro came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Palestra do Interior fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Perivaldo Carneiro couldn't finish the play. Unicorns ™'s Corneliu Vulpăşin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nelsinho Marinho in the 25th minute of play. When Unicorns ™'s Alex Răduț in the 29th minute got a chance for a shot 29th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Palestra do Interior's goalie prevented a goal. Nelsinho Marinho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Dinei Brito fell near the penalty area in the 35th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Palestra do Interior's protests and gave Dinei Brito a yellow card for diving instead. Corneliu Vulpăşin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Perivaldo Carneiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. After the first half Palestra do Interior were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nelsinho Marinho was the one to do the kick off. Corneliu Vulpăşin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nelsinho Marinho in the 53rd minute of play. Nelsinho Marinho took the ball and in the 55 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Corneliu Vulpăşin. Corneliu Vulpăşin dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Fernando Pras didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Alex Răduț went, in the 60th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. Palestra do Interior made a substitution. Anísio Carneiro replaced Maurinho Matorin. A hard shot 68 in the game by Nelsinho Marinho from a close distance when the talented Corneliu Vulpăşin managed to make a qualified save. Unicorns ™'s players were relieved. Perivaldo Carneiro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 74th minute of the match, but Corneliu Vulpăşin made a huge save. With a little luck, Unicorns ™'s Corneliu Vulpăşin got control of the ball when Nelsinho Marinho tried to sneak it across the goal line. 82 minutes into the match, Nelsinho Marinho dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Corneliu Vulpăşin, 1-3. A collision led to Palestra do Interior getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Perivaldo Gerber hit a great ball. After 86 played minutes Unicorns ™ got a freekick which was hit by Iacob Surdu. After 87 played minutes, Palestra do Interior's Richard Ríos shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Corneliu Vulpăşin came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Palestra do Interior reached it. Perivaldo Carneiro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 92nd minute of the match, but Corneliu Vulpăşin made a huge save. Corneliu Vulpăşin stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Perivaldo Carneiro's shot from short distance in the 94th minute. The Unicorns ™ supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Palestra do Interior's performance. The match ended with a win for Palestra do Interior.
