Castanheiro SC's Pedrinho Guimarães proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 15th minute of the match, managed to save Castanheiro SC from getting a goal against them. 16 minutes into the game, Luisinho Seco was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Castanheiro SC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave ≮王者归来≯Island Sunrise the free kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Umberto Dionísio in the 18th minute of play forced ≮王者归来≯Island Sunrise's goalkeeper Carlinhos Vieira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. But to his dismay, Benedito Mineiro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Umberto Dionísio scored 0-3 in the 46th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Carlinhos Vieira, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Óskar Aspfors to make the kick off. Anísio Alagoano was extremely unlucky when he, in the 63rd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out.
