The supporters of Daustad booed when Ballkam Sportsklubb was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Yoachim Sterkx didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 12th minute, Maarten Snikis ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Karsten Hveding was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Karsten Hveding showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nikki Kassa in the 16th minute of the match. Karsten Hveding made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maarten Snikis in the 19th minute of play. Olaf Juul made in the 30th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Ballkam Sportsklubb's Lars-Erik Wathne. The audience thought a goal was coming when Olaf Juul got free with Odin Saue in the 32nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Karsten Hveding stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Maarten Snikis's shot from short distance in the 38th minute. After a rather tough play, Daustad's Joachim Oen got a free kick in the 41st minute. Karsten Hveding showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Maarten Snikis, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jim-André Nybakken to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 50th match minute, Daustad was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jim-André Nybakken to maneuver through the defense. If Arne Hageland had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Maarten Snikis's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Karsten Hveding read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 62nd minute of play. The throw-in from Chris Holmvik in the 66th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Ballkam Sportsklubb's Lars-Erik Wathne. Karsten Hveding made an important save on a dangerous shot by Maarten Snikis in the 67th minute. When the match had gone on for 69 minutes, Lars-Erik Wathne took a quick shot and it went in 0-2 without a chance for Karsten Hveding to make any attempt to save it. 71 minutes in the game, Maarten Snikis fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Karsten Hveding having to interfere. 74 minutes into the match, Jim-André Nybakken had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Odin Saue. Ballkam Sportsklubb's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jim-André Nybakken was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. In the 85th minute the ball was on its way in behind Daustad's goalkeeper Karsten Hveding, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After having played for 90 minutes, Maarten Snikis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ballkam Sportsklubb's supporters crossed their fingers, but Maarten Snikis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ballkam Sportsklubb's Arthur Lode was substituted for Nikki Kassa. The referee's whistle sounded for the end of the second half. The match was tied at 2-2. None of the players looked happy at the prospect of extra-time.

After resting during the break, the players from both teams went out on the field looking very concentrated. It was now first half of the overtime. Arthur Lode made the kick off and play began. After a rather tough play, Ballkam Sportsklubb's Halvdan Strømsvåg got a free kick in the 101st minute. Ballkam Sportsklubb's Odin Saue played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tage Kvammen in the 102nd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Ballkam Sportsklubb's Tommy Blackhurst got a free kick in the 103rd minute. In the 106th match minute, Ballkam Sportsklubb was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jan Førsund to maneuver through the defense. The long shot by Tage Kvammen in the 106th minute really tested Odin Saue's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Maarten Snikis in the 108th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Karsten Hveding prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The score was still level after an even and exciting first-half in extra time. The players took a moment to grab a drink and get instructions from their managers before swapping ends.
