After some careless play in the Villa Gordiani defense, Anfilogino Preda kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Iker Casillas. The Villa Gordiani fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Iker Casillas should have stopped the shot. Alex Mori could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 18th minute of the match, but Iker Casillas made a huge save. After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Fabrizio Canzano managed to get in a good position for a shot. Villa Gordiani's supporters rose to their feet, but Fabrizio Canzano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alex Mori got free with Iker Casillas in the 31st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 36th minute of the match Montechiarugolo AFC got a corner. Villa Gordiani's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Alex Mori ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Alex Mori got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Iker Casillas quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 39th minute Daniele Bevilacqua shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iker Casillas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Anfilogino Preda got free with Iker Casillas in the 43rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ove Bergman made a kick off.
