Amerigo Taranto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Davey Conlin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Zola Predosa FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Fabrice Oberlé in the 9th minute. After some careless play in the FC Mims defense, Damiano Africano kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Amerigo Taranto. The FC Mims fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Amerigo Taranto should have stopped the shot. The supporters of Zola Predosa FC booed when FC Mims was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antonello Bartolomucci didn't get a good kick on the ball. Emilio Grimaldi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Josué Rego having to interfere. 24 minutes into the match, FC Mims's goal looked a bit too open when Damiano Africano came free, but Amerigo Taranto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Amerigo Taranto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Amedeo Piermattei in the 28th minute of the match. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Amedeo Piermattei made a kick off. 53 minutes in the game Fabrice Oberlé did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Inácio Andrade. After a defensive mix-up in FC Mims's zone, Cosimo Sciamanna stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Amerigo Taranto came out of the goal and Cosimo Sciamanna tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 96 minutes into the game, Cosimo Sciamanna recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Amerigo Taranto. Cosimo Sciamanna showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-4. Zola Predosa FC played a much better game than FC Mims and deserved their victory. The FC Mims players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
