Jan Budzyn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jorge Cordeiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Newcastle United FC's zone, Szymon Sobczak stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Otto Hermansson came out of the goal and Szymon Sobczak tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, Newcastle United FC's Otto Hermansson got control of the ball when Ludomir Blicharz tried to sneak it across the goal line. Gustaw Kosiorek came free with the goalkeeper in the 75th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Otto Hermansson could save by the left post. In the 95th minute Tord Åström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jan Budzyn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gustaw Kosiorek came free with the goalkeeper in the 96th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Otto Hermansson could save by the left post. Despite being the better team, Newcastle United FC failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
