An unexpectedly hard shot by Jorge Mendiko in the 20th minute of play forced FK Eldema Mstišov's goalkeeper Vladimír Mergl to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marko Lindholm fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vladimír Mergl having to interfere. In the 28th minute Jorge Mendiko shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vladimír Mergl saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The FK Eldema Mstišov fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Vladimír Mergl should have stopped the shot. Odysseas Kondilis's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Vladimír Mergl firmly grabbed it by the left post.
