With an extended leg and a bit of luck Luiz Pombal prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Júlio Lago during the 23rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Brasiliense FC's Júlio Lago got a free kick in the 23rd minute. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joãozinho Pernambucano couldn't finish the play. Joãozinho Pernambucano in the 46thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Luiz Pombal, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

In the 51st minute, Nuno Dantas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Juarês Quirino hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. Joãozinho Pernambucano's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Luiz Pombal read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 61st minute of play. In the 73rd minute, Joãozinho Pernambucano ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Luiz Pombal was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Joãozinho Pernambucano in the 77th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Luiz Pombal saved Brasiliense FC from getting behind. Luiz Pombal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cafu Donato in the 78th minute of the match. When Lúcio Furtado fell near the penalty area in the 78th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Brasiliense FC's protests and gave Lúcio Furtado a yellow card for diving instead. Lúcio Furtado kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. In the 80th match minute, Palmares Futebol Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luiz Fernando Maranhense to maneuver through the defense. Nuno Dantas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 84th minute, Alfredo Botelho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Palmares Futebol Clube's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
