Aquilino Oliviero showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kartal Başar in the 15th minute of the match. 16 minutes had been played when some careless play by Sporting de Gijón's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Duta Halim was slow to take the kick. During this time los nadies's players had a chance to rest. In the 22nd minute Kartal Başar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aquilino Oliviero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aquilino Oliviero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hulk Paraíba in the 23rd minute of play. Aquilino Oliviero took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kartal Başar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hulk Paraíba took the ball and in the 28 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Aquilino Oliviero. Aquilino Oliviero dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. After a rather tough play, Sporting de Gijón's Eulalio Soter got a free kick in the 34th minute. Aquilino Oliviero came out of the goal in the 38th minute to try and stop a shot by los nadies's Hulk Paraíba. But to his dismay, Hulk Paraíba quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Eulalio Soter kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. Duta Halim took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 41st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Aquilino Oliviero. Sporting de Gijón's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Aquilino Oliviero came out of the goal in the 44th minute to try and stop a shot by los nadies's Amado Inautzi. But to his dismay, Amado Inautzi quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Angel Di Maria hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

The wind increased when Angel Di Maria made the kick off in the second half. If Amado Inautzi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a rather tough play, Sporting de Gijón's Fausto George got a free kick in the 54th minute. In the 55th minute of the match, Hulk Paraíba got a very nice opportunity to score, but Aquilino Oliviero was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Aquilino Oliviero took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kartal Başar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sporting de Gijón made a substitution. Omar Etor replaced Simon Cesario. In the 61st minute, Ezequiel Fernández hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to los nadies getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Gerardo Onofre hit a great ball. Aquilino Oliviero showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kartal Başar, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. In the 70th minute, Eulalio Soter hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jason Fieldhouse received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Aquilino Oliviero tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 77th minute, Jason Fieldhouse fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Aquilino Oliviero showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kartal Başar in the 85th minute of the match. Fausto George hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. When the match had gone on for 90 minutes, Kartal Başar took a quick shot and it went in 0-4 without a chance for Aquilino Oliviero to make any attempt to save it. 94 minutes into the match, los nadies's goal looked a bit too open when Bonifacio Oliverio came free, but Matan Goleš reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match was over los nadies could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Sporting de Gijón throughout the match.
