U. de Tarapacá's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pedro Tomás Berau was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Marco Colipi charged in rather forcefully in the 12th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The supporters of U. de Tarapacá booed when Ballet Azul was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Loreno Deves didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 26 minutes of play, Ballet Azul's Ysidro Briones made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Eusebio Portillo was left in no man's land by his defense there! Eusebio Portillo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ysidro Briones in the 33rd minute of the match. In the 37th minute Ysidro Briones shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eusebio Portillo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Pedro Tomás Berau to strike the kick off in the second half. If Pedro Tomás Berau had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 50th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eusebio Portillo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Esteban Carrera did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 0-2 to the left of a surprised Eusebio Portillo 67 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Esteban Carrera got free with Eusebio Portillo in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 75th minute, Ballet Azul's Ysidro Briones ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Eusebio Portillo. Eusebio Portillo yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-3. Eusebio Portillo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Esteban Carrera in the 79th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Esteban Carrera got free with Eusebio Portillo in the 82nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. U. de Tarapacá's Eusebio Portillo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 85th minute of the match, managed to save U. de Tarapacá from getting a goal against them.
