The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a defensive mix-up in Morro Grande E.C's zone, Francis Cesura stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gláuber Brodel came out of the goal and Francis Cesura tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 9th minute Ronaldinho Meira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Baiarte Cazares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 12th minute, Orland Villadiego got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Orland Villadiego struck a weak shot in the 13th minute. Gláuber Brodel didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Deportivo ScrugenFC. Baiarte Cazares made a fantastic save in the 19th minute, when Jorginho Mazza sent off a good shot on target. After 20 minutes, Florentino Aquejano mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Deportivo ScrugenFC and the Morro Grande E.C players grew even worse after the yellow card. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ronaldinho Meira in the 21st minute of play forced Deportivo ScrugenFC's goalkeeper Baiarte Cazares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Morro Grande E.C's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Toninho Caca-Rato in the 23rd minute. Gláuber Brodel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Orland Villadiego, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. A collision led to Morro Grande E.C getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Christiano Trevisan hit a great ball. If Ostots Balaguer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Deportivo ScrugenFC getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Florentino Aquejano hit a great ball. 33 minutes into the match, Morro Grande E.C's goal looked a bit too open when Francis Cesura came free, but Gláuber Brodel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cuarto Marzana hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. In the 36th minute of the match Toninho Caca-Rato shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Baiarte Cazares showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 37th minute, Ostots Balaguer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Baiarte Cazares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ronaldinho Meira, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Baiarte Cazares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elói Penha in the 54th minute of play. Baiarte Cazares didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ronaldinho Meira went, in the 56th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Habib Ali Picavea hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. In the 62nd minute, Cayo Bono got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Deportivo ScrugenFC's Florentino Aquejano got a free kick in the 64th minute. After 68 played minutes Deportivo ScrugenFC got a freekick which was hit by Lluis Pavieta. After some fancy dribbling in the 69th minute, Toninho Caca-Rato managed to get in a good position for a shot. Morro Grande E.C's supporters rose to their feet, but Toninho Caca-Rato was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Baiarte Cazares breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Morro Grande E.C's Gláuber Brodel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cayo Bono in the 74th minute of play. Baiarte Cazares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Habib Ali Picavea, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cayo Bono got free with Gláuber Brodel in the 92nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Morro Grande E.C fans cheered their team off the field, for while Deportivo ScrugenFC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
