An unexpectedly hard shot by Philipp Van Emelen in the 24th minute of play forced Internazionale-RS's goalkeeper Stefan Neubrandt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Philipp Van Emelen could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 28th minute of the match, but Stefan Neubrandt made a huge save. Stefan Neubrandt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ferdinand Weijnants in the 29th minute of play. Aloísio Arruda fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Henk Pijps having to interfere. Aloísio Arruda might have been able to make a better finish in the 38th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Henk Pijps. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Aloísio Arruda ran back to his position shaking his head. KFC Vliegplein's Henk Pijps played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Walmyr Félix in the 43rd minute of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The wind increased when Aloísio Arruda made the kick off in the second half. Henk Pijps took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aloísio Arruda, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 80 played minutes Internazionale-RS got a freekick which was hit by Carlos Alberto Trigo.
