The audience thought a goal was coming when Jullian Vranx got free with Laurence Murphy in the 24th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A throw-in in the 28th minute of the game was made by Vidar Markusson with Marcus Öberg as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kurt Almqvist in the 38th minute of play forced Bruly's goalkeeper Willy Van Linthout to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Marcus Aurelius in the 39th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Willy Van Linthout prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience was convinced that Marcus Aurelius's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Willy Van Linthout was relentless in the 44th minute of the game. Meadow Village's Laurence Murphy played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jullian Vranx in the 47th minute of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

After 52 minutes, Thomas Lanen mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Bruly and the Meadow Village players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Meadow Village booed when Bruly was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Thomas Lanen didn't get a good kick on the ball. Willy Van Linthout made an important save on a dangerous shot by Marcus Aurelius in the 54th minute. Javier Van Landschoot's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Laurence Murphy read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 67th minute of play. Meadow Village's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marcus Aurelius was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Thanks to some nice moves Marcus Aurelius could shoot a difficult shot in the 96th minute, which Willy Van Linthout however easily saved by the left post. Meadow Village's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Marcus Aurelius in the 97th minute. Marcus Aurelius made a great header on Meadow Village's corner, it was just that Bruly's Willy Van Linthout managed to reach the ball for a save. When Mårten Kristiansson came up free with the goalie in the 98th minute, the Meadow Village fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mårten Kristiansson couldn't finish the play. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
