The audience thought a goal was coming when Mazinho Godoi got free with Vágner Santos in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to A A Arizona getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Hélder Pinho hit a great ball. Júlio Sá scored 1-1 in the 36th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Rodolfo Siqueira, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 40 minutes into the game, Jorginho Moreira was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gurdurão's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave A A Arizona the free kick. Rodolfo Siqueira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Claudinei Pitta in the 44th minute of the match. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Mazinho Godoi made the kick off in the second half. In the 56th minute of the match, Galo Kura got a very nice opportunity to score, but Rodolfo Siqueira was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post.
