When Venancio Havier fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's protests and gave Venancio Havier a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's Venancio Havier got a free kick in the 20th minute. Juniors FC's Uriel Isias got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet as Juniors FC's Uriel Isias slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Branislav Velchevski. That made the score 1-0 after 33 minutes of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 37th minute, Uriel Isias managed to get in a good position for a shot. Juniors FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Uriel Isias was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Branislav Velchevski breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Uriel Isias could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 44th minute of the match, but Branislav Velchevski made a huge save. Branislav Velchevski made a fantastic save in the 45th minute, when Uriel Isias sent off a good shot on target. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Uriel Isias made the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute Uriel Isias shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Branislav Velchevski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 58thth minute of the game Elpidio Francis who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Juniors FC's Lázaro Colon was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Lázaro Colon stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Elpidio Francis's shot from short distance in the 58th minute. After a rather tough play, ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's Timoteo Basualdo got a free kick in the 60th minute. In the 67th minute, Elpidio Francis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Juniors FC's Enrique Frasco was substituted for Uriel Isias. Elpidio Francis struck a weak shot in the 70th minute. Lázaro Colon didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal.
