The corner led FC St. Pauli's Wen Ke to fire away a dangerous shot which Falcão Cunha despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After some careless play in the FC St. Pauli defense, Augusto Saldanha kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Serginho Botelho. The FC St. Pauli fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Serginho Botelho should have stopped the shot. A collision led to FC St. Pauli getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Pranas Užkuraitis stepped up to make the kick off in the second half.
