Kelly Hopson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but Alketas Koulakiotis made a huge save. When Takis Kanavidis fell near the penalty area in the 17th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Kerkyra FC's protests and gave Takis Kanavidis a yellow card for diving instead. Takis Kanavidis hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. Alketas Koulakiotis didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Freddie Henderson went, in the 18th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. The supporters of C. A. Pipon Pipon booed when Kerkyra FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stamatis Tsilikas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Freddie Henderson might have been able to make a better finish in the 27th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Alketas Koulakiotis. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Freddie Henderson ran back to his position shaking his head. Stamatis Tsilikas struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Clemente Armani didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Kerkyra FC. Clemente Armani came out of the goal in the 39th minute to try and stop a shot by Kerkyra FC's Koulis Kouloucheris. But to his dismay, Koulis Kouloucheris quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stathis Livathinos in the 48th minute of play forced C. A. Pipon Pipon's goalkeeper Clemente Armani to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Stathis Livathinos to strike the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Kerkyra FC's Leonidas Eleftherakis got a free kick in the 96th minute. The C. A. Pipon Pipon support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
