Tadeu do Nascimento's late challenge caught a DARAS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tadeu do Nascimento helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of DARAS booed when Pragmáticos 1903 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tadeu do Nascimento didn't get a good kick on the ball. Toni Nenchev recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ferenc Puskás received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Dobrin Beremov tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rumen Dzhananov during the 29th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 29th match minute, DARAS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rumen Dzhananov to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Thierry Henry in the 33rd minute of play forced DARAS's goalkeeper Dobrin Beremov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 34 minutes had been played when some careless play by DARAS's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. In the 41st minute of the game Rumen Dzhananov made a throw-in which Nano Mitrashkov played forward. DARAS's Dobrin Beremov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Thierry Henry in the 44th minute of play. Pragmáticos 1903's Zé Carlos Britto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Boncho Zhilev in the 48th minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ferenc Puskás was the one to do the kick off. DARAS's Dobrin Beremov proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save DARAS from getting a goal against them. Ferenc Puskás could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 65th minute of the match, but Dobrin Beremov made a huge save. DARAS's Svetoslav Hrulev was substituted for Alek Rangachev. After a defensive mix-up in DARAS's zone, Thierry Henry stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dobrin Beremov came out of the goal and Thierry Henry tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 79 minutes of play Pragmáticos 1903's Luiz Eduardo Alves was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 79th match minute, Pragmáticos 1903 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luiz Eduardo Alves to maneuver through the defense. Zé Carlos Britto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Boncho Zhilev, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Thierry Henry couldn't finish the play. When Walmyr Severo fell near the penalty area in the 92nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pragmáticos 1903's protests and gave Walmyr Severo a yellow card for diving instead.
