Botello Pinto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from José Flores in the 21st minute of the match. Gómez Cruzado blasted a shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Botello Pinto having to make a save. Botello Pinto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gómez Cruzado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alvar Svanér kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. FURIA MACHALEÑA S.C's Botello Pinto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gómez Cruzado in the 48th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Granville's Chi-Chi Branca was substituted for Gómez Cruzado. The throw-in from Desiderio Tirso in the 58th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by FURIA MACHALEÑA S.C's Simon Caicedo. After 64 played minutes Granville got a freekick which was hit by Pablo Sanson. Başar Öztarhan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Szczepan Wojtkiewicz in the 68th minute of the match. 71 minutes into the match, Granville's goal looked a bit too open when Szczepan Wojtkiewicz came free, but Başar Öztarhan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Neycho Sergiev fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Başar Öztarhan having to interfere. Chi-Chi Branca could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 78th minute of the match, but Botello Pinto made a huge save. 81 minutes into the match, FURIA MACHALEÑA S.C's goalkeeper Botello Pinto had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Chi-Chi Branca. After a defensive mix-up in Granville's zone, Zhuo Cheng Jian stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Başar Öztarhan came out of the goal and Zhuo Cheng Jian tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that Chi-Chi Branca's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Botello Pinto was relentless in the 92nd minute of the game. When the match was over Granville could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than FURIA MACHALEÑA S.C throughout the match.
