Tod McCartney fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Omar Lauren having to interfere. 13 minutes into the match, Deportivo Balvanera's Isaias Erroman sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Denis Walmsley narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Stickleback Utd Xl's Denis Walmsley played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Isaias Erroman in the 15th minute of play. Deportivo Balvanera's Isaias Erroman managed to work through Stickleback Utd Xl's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Isaias Erroman dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Omar Lauren took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tod McCartney, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cliff Flower kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. Lance Shakespeare's late challenge caught a Deportivo Balvanera's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lance Shakespeare helped the player get up and apologised. Lance Shakespeare hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice moves Jo Croxford could shoot a difficult shot in the 31st minute, which Omar Lauren however easily saved by the left post. Denis Walmsley stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Isaias Erroman's shot from short distance in the 35th minute. 37 minutes into the game, Isaias Erroman cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Denis Walmsley was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The Stickleback Utd Xl players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Deportivo Balvanera were winning 1-4.

Stickleback Utd Xl's Francis Curtis was substituted for Jo Croxford. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Francis Curtis was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Tod McCartney hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Denis Walmsley made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Isaias Erroman in the 53rd minute of play. Isaias Erroman received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Denis Walmsley came out and tried to block the shot, but Isaias Erroman slotted it home off the left post making it 1-5 in the 56th minute. After 58 minutes, Benji Browne mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Stickleback Utd Xl and the Deportivo Balvanera players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 58 played minutes Stickleback Utd Xl got a freekick which was hit by Benji Browne. 60 minutes had been played when some careless play by Stickleback Utd Xl's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Natalio Martino was slow to take the kick. During this time Deportivo Balvanera's players had a chance to rest. In the 64th minute, Natalio Martino got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Wes Waegemans's late challenge caught a Deportivo Balvanera's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Wes Waegemans helped the player get up and apologised. Natalio Martino blasted a shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Denis Walmsley having to make a save. Denis Walmsley showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Isaias Erroman, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. Renato Portalupi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Deportivo Balvanera's Till Slesinski was substituted for Jaroslaw Kaczorowski. Stickleback Utd Xl made a substitution. Kasey Bond replaced Rupert Longden. Denis Walmsley made an important save on a dangerous shot by François-Xavier Castello in the 85th minute. In the 89th minute of the game Tony Featherstone made a throw-in which Benji Browne played forward. Denis Walmsley stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of François-Xavier Castello's shot from short distance in the 94th minute. After 96 played minutes Stickleback Utd Xl got a freekick which was hit by David Sheringham.
