Gustave Lechat was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After having played for 6 minutes, Dinei Sergipano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Braga Junior FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dinei Sergipano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 9th minute, Adrian Mutu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gustave Lechat was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Adrian Mutu struck a weak shot in the 11th minute. Gustave Lechat didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Braga Junior FC. Brickeen Wall was a little too slow when Bart Vetter got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 13th minute. The score was now 1-2. In the 16th minute, Melvin Hug hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Dinei Sergipano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 27 minutes into the match, Adrian Mutu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gustave Lechat. R.C. Marseille's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Adrian Mutu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. In the 29th minute, Dariusz Zembrzuski hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 31st minute the ball was on its way in behind R.C. Marseille's goalkeeper Gustave Lechat, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to Braga Junior FC getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Justo Berart hit a great ball. After 35 minutes of play, Braga Junior FC's Adrian Mutu made it 1-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gustave Lechat was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 38th minute Adrian Mutu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gustave Lechat saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Adrian Mutu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-4 lead.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Bart Vetter stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Adrian Mutu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Adrian Mutu got free with Gustave Lechat in the 51st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Adrian Mutu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gustave Lechat having to make a save. Gustave Lechat showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adrian Mutu, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. 55 minutes into the match, R.C. Marseille's goal looked a bit too open when Adrian Mutu came free, but Gustave Lechat reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Adrian Mutu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 57th minute of the match, but Gustave Lechat made a huge save. R.C. Marseille's Gustave Lechat played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adrian Mutu in the 59th minute of play. With a little luck, R.C. Marseille's Gustave Lechat got control of the ball when Adrian Mutu tried to sneak it across the goal line. Braga Junior FC's Dinei Sergipano got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. R.C. Marseille's Gustave Lechat proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 71st minute of the match, managed to save R.C. Marseille from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in Braga Junior FC's zone, Bart Vetter stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Brickeen Wall came out of the goal and Bart Vetter tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Braga Junior FC booed when R.C. Marseille was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Melvin Hug didn't get a good kick on the ball. Adrian Mutu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gustave Lechat read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 78th minute of play. Adrian Mutu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gustave Lechat having to make a save. Gustave Lechat showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adrian Mutu, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. After 81 minutes of play, Braga Junior FC's Adrian Mutu made it 1-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gustave Lechat was left in no man's land by his defense there! Adrian Mutu succeeded in the game's 90th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-7. 94 minutes into the match, Adrian Mutu dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Gustave Lechat, 1-8. Braga Junior FC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
