The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Horst Hussen charged in rather forcefully in the 4th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Horst Hussen the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Mark Elzers short, quick shot in the 9thth minute got Mateusz Marchewka to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. When John Rambo fell near the penalty area in the 10th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SV Bad Harzburg's protests and gave John Rambo a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Zielonka Gdansk booed when SV Bad Harzburg was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. John Rambo didn't get a good kick on the ball. 12 minutes into the game, Norbert Sniegowski was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Zielonka Gdansk's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SV Bad Harzburg the free kick. The supporters of SV Bad Harzburg booed when Zielonka Gdansk was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Norbert Sniegowski didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 13 played minutes, SV Bad Harzburg's Horst Hussen shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Mateusz Marchewka came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in SV Bad Harzburg reached it. Zielonka Gdansk's Mateusz Marchewka played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Achim Sonnenschein in the 14th minute of play. In the 17thth minute of the game Miroslaw Dula who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SV Bad Harzburg's Tim Wiese was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Mark Elzer's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 19thth minute, Mateusz Marchewka skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. If Lars Schira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Tim Wiese stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tobiasz Czempa's shot from short distance in the 30th minute. After 30 minutes, Tobiasz Czempa made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. SV Bad Harzburg's Tim Wiese tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Mark Elzer who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 36thth minute tested the skills of Mateusz Marchewka when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Éthan Pichard could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 38th minute of the match, but Mateusz Marchewka made a huge save. 41 minutes into the match, Zielonka Gdansk's goalkeeper Mateusz Marchewka had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Éthan Pichard. Mateusz Marchewka made an important save on a dangerous shot by Éthan Pichard in the 45th minute. In the 47th minute, Kryspin Puchlik sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and SV Bad Harzburg's Tim Wiese didn't even have to move. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Mark Elzer to strike the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Zielonka Gdansk's goal looked a bit too open when Mark Elzer came free, but Mateusz Marchewka reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Éthan Pichard in the 55th minute of play forced Zielonka Gdansk's goalkeeper Mateusz Marchewka to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Zielonka Gdansk's Wiktor Sliwinski got a free kick in the 55th minute. A collision led to Zielonka Gdansk getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Adam Bochynski hit a great ball. 60 minutes into the match, Zielonka Gdansk's goal looked a bit too open when Mark Elzer came free, but Mateusz Marchewka reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 64thth minute of the game Mark Elzer who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Zielonka Gdansk's Mateusz Marchewka was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Zielonka Gdansk's Krzysztof Kluska was substituted for Miroslaw Dula. 81 minutes into the match, Zielonka Gdansk's goal looked a bit too open when Éthan Pichard came free, but Mateusz Marchewka reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 84 minutes into the match, Zielonka Gdansk's Krzysztof Kluska sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tim Wiese narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 85th minute of the match Zielonka Gdansk got a corner. SV Bad Harzburg's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Kryspin Puchlik ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Kryspin Puchlik got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Tim Wiese quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 96 minutes into the match, Éthan Pichard had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Mateusz Marchewka. Zielonka Gdansk's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Éthan Pichard was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Zielonka Gdansk walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
