Lech Blochowiak made an important save on a dangerous shot by Wágner Recife in the 15th minute. Santana Armada showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sébastian Bouleau, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. The supporters of Vancouver Reds booed when Tours Football Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jiang Fan Yu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sébastian Bouleau in the 32nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Santana Armada prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Roberto Perfumo kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. In the 36thth minute Ulysse Houssais beautifully dribbled past Vancouver Reds's defense and it looked for a moment as a certain goal, but Santana Armada pulled off a phantom save to prevent the ball from scoring on his left hand side. After 38 minutes Vancouver Reds's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Ulysse Houssais who took care of the corner kick. A very nice done corner allowed Ulysse Houssais to score against Santana Armada in Vancouver Reds's goal. 0-1 after 38 minutes. When the match had gone on for 40 minutes, Greger Sandström took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Lech Blochowiak to make any attempt to save it. Benicio Valentine received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Lech Blochowiak came out and tried to block the shot, but Benicio Valentine slotted it home off the left post making it 2-1 in the 44th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Saverio Niva in the 53rd minute of play forced Tours Football Club's goalkeeper Lech Blochowiak to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Wágner Recife's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lech Blochowiak read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 54th minute of play. In the 56th minute Sébastian Bouleau shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Santana Armada saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Vancouver Reds's Santana Armada got control of the ball when Jones Castray tried to sneak it across the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Vancouver Reds reached it. Vancouver Reds's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
