Mai Yao Yao made a fantastic save in the 11th minute, when Zeca Fernandez sent off a good shot on target. In the 14th minute, Theagenis Papageorgiou left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Fracasados fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Fracasados's Mai Yao Yao played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gabriel Efraim in the 21st minute of play. Marcelo Barovero stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Javier Beti's shot from short distance in the 23rd minute. In the 29th minute of the match, Gabriel Efraim tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Mai Yao Yao saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Vladimiro Millano was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Zeca Fernandez could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 44th minute of the match, but Mai Yao Yao made a huge save. In the 46th minute Adolfo Gombal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mai Yao Yao saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Lobos de Carelia's Geale van Dongen was substituted for Zeca Fernandez. After a defensive mix-up in Fracasados's zone, Gabriel Efraim stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mai Yao Yao came out of the goal and Gabriel Efraim tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mai Yao Yao made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Prospero Inguma in the 81st minute of play. 83 minutes into the game, Lobos de Carelia's Gabriel Efraim nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Mai Yao Yao made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-1. With a little luck, Lobos de Carelia's Marcelo Barovero got control of the ball when Theagenis Papageorgiou tried to sneak it across the goal line.
