An unexpectedly hard shot by Alexander Bottone in the 12th minute of play forced AFK Petržalka's goalkeeper Filip Garaj to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alexander Bottone's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Filip Garaj read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 14th minute of play. Filip Garaj didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Alexander Bottone went, in the 14th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. In the 23rd minute the ball was on its way in behind AFK Petržalka's goalkeeper Filip Garaj, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A nice corner shot did that Dino Pozzoli got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Filip Garaj quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Filip Garaj showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alexander Bottone in the 30th minute of the match. In the 32nd minute the ball was on its way in behind AFK Petržalka's goalkeeper Filip Garaj, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The corner ended in Dino Pozzoli almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but AFK Petržalka's Filip Garaj did a great save. The referee felt a red card was in order, 39 minutes into the game, when Merexildo Oliveras put in a rough tackle. With an all-out effort, AFK Petržalka's Alvaro Rotili threw himself towards the right post 40 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Okoyomon Charles Bukowski, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

Alvaro Rotili showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Richard Zedník in the 51st minute of the match. With a little luck, AFK Petržalka's Filip Garaj got control of the ball when Alessio Zoccali tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 55th minute of the match A.S. Udinese got a corner. AFK Petržalka's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Dino Pozzoli ran over to the corner to take the kick. Dino Pozzoli made a great header on A.S. Udinese's corner, it was just that AFK Petržalka's Filip Garaj managed to reach the ball for a save. Corrado Falasca fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Filip Garaj having to interfere. The supporters of A.S. Udinese booed when AFK Petržalka was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jozef Cibulka didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 65th minute of the match A.S. Udinese got a corner. AFK Petržalka's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Dino Pozzoli ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on A.S. Udinese's corner Dino Pozzoli fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Filip Garaj quite easily take care of the ball. AFK Petržalka's defense didn't have a chance, in the 69th minute, when Alessio Zoccali scored to the left of an out of position Filip Garaj, making the score, 0-3. Alberigo Di Franco might have been able to make a better finish in the 72nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Filip Garaj. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Alberigo Di Franco ran back to his position shaking his head. Filip Garaj didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Alessio Zoccali went, in the 74th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. In the 77th minute of the match Dino Pozzoli sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Filip Garaj skillfully saved the ball. Filip Garaj was out of position in the 83 minute of play, and Alessio Zoccali capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Alessio Zoccali really showed his touch with that goal: 0-5. Cristiano Paolucci sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 89th minute Alessio Zoccali shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Filip Garaj saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A.S. Udinese's Alvaro Rotili played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Richard Zedník in the 93rd minute of play. The AFK Petržalka fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. A.S. Udinese were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
