The supporters of Carloforte f.c. booed when YR Mechelen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Maurice Van Mechelen didn't get a good kick on the ball. 14 minutes into the match, YR Mechelen's goal looked a bit too open when Dobromir Adamowicz came free, but Roni Van Hoyveldt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dobromir Adamowicz in the 18th minute of play forced YR Mechelen's goalkeeper Roni Van Hoyveldt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Paul-Louis Van Mechelen who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 19thth minute tested the skills of Waclaw Zajonc when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Roni Van Hoyveldt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lennart Härm, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. The supporters of Carloforte f.c. booed when YR Mechelen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Corneel Van Mechelen didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 26th minute, Lennart Härm ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Roni Van Hoyveldt was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Roni Van Hoyveldt stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lennart Härm's shot from short distance in the 30th minute. Roni Van Hoyveldt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lennart Härm in the 37th minute of the match. Lennart Härm took the ball and in the 42 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Roni Van Hoyveldt. Roni Van Hoyveldt dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Lennart Härm received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Roni Van Hoyveldt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Roni Van Hoyveldt made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-5. Carloforte f.c.'s Claudio Capuozzi was substituted for Ettore Brunetta. In the 84th minute, Carloforte f.c.'s Lennart Härm ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Roni Van Hoyveldt. Roni Van Hoyveldt yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-6. Carloforte f.c.'s players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
