YR Mechelen's Roni Van Hoyveldt proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 7th minute of the match, managed to save YR Mechelen from getting a goal against them. 9 minutes into the game, Barnaba Zukowski recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Roni Van Hoyveldt. Barnaba Zukowski showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Christer Saleh sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sylwester Szarmach got free with Roni Van Hoyveldt in the 17th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Terry Van Houdtvinck's late challenge caught a Wataha Świętokrzyska's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Terry Van Houdtvinck helped the player get up and apologised. After 19 played minutes YR Mechelen got a freekick which was hit by Terry Van Houdtvinck. 19 minutes into the match, YR Mechelen's goalkeeper Roni Van Hoyveldt had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sylwester Szarmach. Roni Van Hoyveldt made a fantastic save in the 24th minute, when Sylwester Szarmach sent off a good shot on target. 25 minutes into the match, YR Mechelen's goal looked a bit too open when Lucjan Tworek came free, but Roni Van Hoyveldt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 27th minute Lucjan Tworek shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roni Van Hoyveldt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Barnaba Zukowski hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. When Barnaba Zukowski came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Wataha Świętokrzyska fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Barnaba Zukowski couldn't finish the play. Sylwester Szarmach blasted a shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Roni Van Hoyveldt having to make a save. With a little luck, YR Mechelen's Roni Van Hoyveldt got control of the ball when Sylwester Szarmach tried to sneak it across the goal line. Sylwester Szarmach recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Paul-Louis Van Mechelen made the kick off in the second half. 55 minutes into the match, YR Mechelen's goal looked a bit too open when Sylwester Szarmach came free, but Roni Van Hoyveldt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 56 minutes into the game, Lucjan Tworek cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Roni Van Hoyveldt was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 60th minute Sylwester Szarmach shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roni Van Hoyveldt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 62 minutes YR Mechelen's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Barnaba Zukowski who took care of the corner kick. Wataha Świętokrzyska's Barnaba Zukowski was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Roni Van Hoyveldt in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Sylwester Szarmach recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some careless play in the YR Mechelen defense, Lucjan Tworek kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Roni Van Hoyveldt. The YR Mechelen fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Roni Van Hoyveldt should have stopped the shot. In the 69th minute the ball was on its way in behind YR Mechelen's goalkeeper Roni Van Hoyveldt, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 70 minutes had been played when some careless play by YR Mechelen's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Barnaba Zukowski was slow to take the kick. During this time Wataha Świętokrzyska's players had a chance to rest. Barnaba Zukowski made a great header on Wataha Świętokrzyska's corner, it was just that YR Mechelen's Roni Van Hoyveldt managed to reach the ball for a save. The Wataha Świętokrzyska fans' excitement grew in the 71st match minute when Wataha Świętokrzyska's Christer Saleh looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 4-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After having played for 73 minutes, Lucjan Tworek managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Wataha Świętokrzyska's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lucjan Tworek was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 75th minute, Barnaba Zukowski managed to get in a good position for a shot. Wataha Świętokrzyska's supporters rose to their feet, but Barnaba Zukowski was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Roni Van Hoyveldt breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Joery Van Mechelen kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. 80 minutes into the match, Sylwester Szarmach notched a goal, 5-0, to the right of YR Mechelen's Roni Van Hoyveldt. Roni Van Hoyveldt was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 84th minute, Barnaba Zukowski got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 86 minutes into the match, YR Mechelen's goal looked a bit too open when Sylwester Szarmach came free, but Roni Van Hoyveldt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 88 minutes into the game, Mieszko Lichorobiec cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 6-0. Roni Van Hoyveldt was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 91st minute, Mieszko Lichorobiec hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. YR Mechelen's Terry Van Houdtvinck got his second yellow card of the match in the 95th minute. The referee ordered Terry Van Houdtvinck off the ground. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 95th minute of the game. One of YR Mechelen:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Wataha Świętokrzyska:s goal. When the referee ended the match the Wataha Świętokrzyska players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
