Gerardo Romelio was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Eriberto Abeitia succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-2 in the 27th playminute. After 33 minutes of play, New Joinville - FSCMZ's Hugo Favoretto made it 2-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gerardo Romelio was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 38th minute, Ermegildo Llanos fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Gustavo Gustavson, passed just outside the right post. The supporters of SAN LORENZO FC booed when New Joinville - FSCMZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bruno de Senna didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 45th minute, Armando Massa made a precise shot to the right of Gerardo Romelio. SAN LORENZO FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-4. Disappointed in the 2-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Elias Tiso made the kick off in the second half. After 51 played minutes SAN LORENZO FC got a freekick which was hit by Elias Tiso. A hard shot by Diamantino Britto from long distance, 52 minutes into the match, got Gerardo Romelio's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Diamantino Britto's late challenge caught a SAN LORENZO FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Diamantino Britto helped the player get up and apologised. Diamantino Britto hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. Federico Eleazar struck a weak shot in the 54th minute. Gustavo Gustavson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SAN LORENZO FC. The supporters of SAN LORENZO FC booed when New Joinville - FSCMZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gustavo-Hernán Cadelo didn't get a good kick on the ball. New Joinville - FSCMZ's Walmir Sarmento was substituted for Thomás Cardoso. Diamantino Britto hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. Gustavo-Hernán Cadelo came free with the goalkeeper in the 75th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Gerardo Romelio could save by the left post. In the 77th minute, Gustavo-Hernán Cadelo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The New Joinville - FSCMZ fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-5. SAN LORENZO FC's Gerardo Romelio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Claudinho Terra in the 80th minute of play. Gerardo Romelio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hugo Favoretto in the 81st minute of play. Claudinho Terra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gerardo Romelio having to interfere. Gustavo Gustavson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fabricio Tipi, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. In the 92nd minute, Diamantino Britto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 95 minutes, Claudinho Terra mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the New Joinville - FSCMZ and the SAN LORENZO FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. New Joinville - FSCMZ had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
