Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. The Guarulhas fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. If Tiaguinho Reis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bret Harper came out of the goal in the 13th minute to try and stop a shot by Desert Fury's Tadeu Flores. But to his dismay, Tadeu Flores quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Tiaguinho Reis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hudson Queirós hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Nuno Dikaté showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luiz Fábio Mendonça in the 27th minute of the match. 31 minutes into the match, Guarulhas's goal looked a bit too open when Tadeu Flores came free, but Bret Harper reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 32 minutes into the game, Desert Fury's Nuno Ramos nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Bret Harper made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. When Afonso Amado came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the Desert Fury fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Afonso Amado couldn't finish the play. Tadeu Flores received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Bret Harper tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tiaguinho Reis's late challenge caught a Desert Fury's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tiaguinho Reis helped the player get up and apologised. After 42 played minutes Guarulhas got a freekick which was hit by Tiaguinho Reis. Nuno Dikaté showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tiaguinho Reis, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. A hard shot 47 in the game by Tadeu Flores from a close distance when the talented Bret Harper managed to make a qualified save. Guarulhas's players were relieved.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Marcel Baiano to make the kick off.
