The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Vaz FC's Dércio Amaral played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alfredo Igrejas in the 6th minute of play. Arrifana FC's Olavo Moreira quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Simão Queirós, made in the 9th minute of the game. In the 13th minute, Hu Jian Yi left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Arrifana FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. 16 minutes into the match, Tomé Jesus had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dércio Amaral. Vaz FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tomé Jesus was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. 20 minutes into the game, one of Vaz FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Mihály Pulai placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! After 25 minutes, Alfredo Igrejas made it 0-3 with a short kick to the right side. Vaz FC's Dércio Amaral tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Dércio Amaral took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Toni Huarte, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Vaz FC defense, Hu Jian Yi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dércio Amaral. The Vaz FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dércio Amaral should have stopped the shot. The Arrifana FC fans' excitement grew in the 35th match minute when Arrifana FC's Alfredo Igrejas looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-5 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 42 minutes into the match, Vaz FC's goal looked a bit too open when Tomé Jesus came free, but Dércio Amaral reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 47 minutes, David Teixeira mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Vaz FC and the Arrifana FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 47th match minute, Vaz FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by David Teixeira to maneuver through the defense. Arrifana FC made a substitution. Vaz FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-5.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for José Taborda to strike the kick off in the second half. Pedro Vilalobos got a throw-in 54 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Simão Queirós. With a little luck, Vaz FC's Dércio Amaral got control of the ball when Hu Jian Yi tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 60th minute José Taborda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dércio Amaral saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hélio Póvoas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Teodor Cercel in the 61st minute of play. When José Taborda came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the Arrifana FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that José Taborda couldn't finish the play. After 68 minutes of play, Arrifana FC's José Taborda made it 0-6 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dércio Amaral was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 73rd minute, Pedro Vilalobos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. José Taborda's late challenge caught a Vaz FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. José Taborda helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Arrifana FC getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. José Taborda hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Flavio Xabel in the 76th minute of play forced Arrifana FC's goalkeeper Hélio Póvoas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Vaz FC's zone, José Taborda stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dércio Amaral came out of the goal and José Taborda tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 83rd minute, Hu Jian Yi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 86th minute José Taborda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dércio Amaral saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 88 minutes into the match, Vaz FC's goal looked a bit too open when José Taborda came free, but Dércio Amaral reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tomé Jesus sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Simão Queirós hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. The Vaz FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Arrifana FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
