The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jonatan Enekoitz showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Jonatan Enekoitz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ronaldo Pirani in the 11th minute of the match. 12 minutes had been played when some careless play by Monte Hermoso Beach's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Richard Ríos was slow to take the kick. During this time Palestra do Interior's players had a chance to rest. Monte Hermoso Beach's Jonatan Enekoitz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nelsinho Marinho in the 16th minute of play. In the 16thth minute of the game Nelsinho Marinho who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Monte Hermoso Beach's Jonatan Enekoitz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The referee felt a red card was in order, 20 minutes into the game, when Perivaldo Gerber put in a rough tackle. In the 20th minute, one of Palestra do Interior:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Palestra do Interior. The referee gave Monte Hermoso Beach a penalty, 22 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Victor Cordeara, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Palestra do Interior's Fernando Pras. 1-2. Alex Toscano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonatan Enekoitz having to interfere. After having played for 29 minutes, Ronaldo Pirani managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Palestra do Interior's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ronaldo Pirani was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some careless play in the Monte Hermoso Beach defense, Ronaldo Pirani kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonatan Enekoitz. The Monte Hermoso Beach fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonatan Enekoitz should have stopped the shot. Jonatan Enekoitz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Perivaldo Carneiro in the 40th minute of the match. A collision led to Palestra do Interior getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Doni Pimenta hit a great ball.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gregorio Bastian to make the kick off.
