The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Natã Paraense during the 44th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 44 played minutes SORRISO E. C. got a freekick which was hit by Natã Paraense. The supporters of Alfa FC booed when SORRISO E. C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edmílson da Rocha didn't get a good kick on the ball. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Denílson de Souza stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 57 minutes of play, Alfa FC's Denílson de Souza made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Christiano Arce was left in no man's land by his defense there! Alfa FC's Geovani Viana was substituted for Luís Fábio Pontes. Christiano Arce showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Denílson de Souza, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. When the match had gone on for 66 minutes, Diguinho Gaúcho took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for Pedrinho de Queirós to make any attempt to save it. In the 73rd minute, Diguinho Gaúcho ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Pedrinho de Queirós was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. In the 76th minute of the match, Cléber da Costa got a very nice opportunity to score, but Pedrinho de Queirós was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. When SORRISO E. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. SORRISO E. C. walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
