Luís Eduardo Prado started the match with the kick off. The crowd rose to their feet as Coritiba Foot Ball Club's Steve Hyuga slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Almir Faria. That made the score 1-0 after 5 minutes of play. Caetano Ponta blasted a shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Almir Faria having to make a save. In the 11th minute Luís Eduardo Prado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Delfim Dantas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ulisses Nogueira during the 16th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 16th minute, Ulisses Nogueira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fiori Tasso struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Almir Faria didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Coritiba Foot Ball Club. With a little luck, Compostela FSCMZ's Almir Faria got control of the ball when Caetano Ponta tried to sneak it across the goal line. Fiori Tasso recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Compostela FSCMZ getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Lúcio Dantas hit a great ball. Thiago Machado received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Almir Faria came out and tried to block the shot, but Thiago Machado slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 31st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Thiago Machado in the 35th minute of play forced Compostela FSCMZ's goalkeeper Almir Faria to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dorel Ilinca's late challenge caught a Compostela FSCMZ's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dorel Ilinca helped the player get up and apologised. Dorel Ilinca hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. 47 minutes into the match, Coritiba Foot Ball Club's goal looked a bit too open when Richard Quintal came free, but Delfim Dantas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Thiago Machado to make the kick off. A collision led to Compostela FSCMZ getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Lúcio Dantas hit a great ball. After 54 played minutes Compostela FSCMZ got a freekick which was hit by João Vítor Neto. In the 64th minute, Thiago Machado got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Almir Faria took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Caetano Ponta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 72nd match minute, Compostela FSCMZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lúcio Dantas to maneuver through the defense. Compostela FSCMZ made a substitution. Romário Borges replaced Gilmar Paes. The supporters of Coritiba Foot Ball Club booed when Compostela FSCMZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lúcio Dantas didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 74 minutes of play, Coritiba Foot Ball Club's Thiago Machado made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Almir Faria was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 78 played minutes Coritiba Foot Ball Club got a freekick which was hit by Caetano Ponta. Compostela FSCMZ made a substitution. Evandro Bastos replaced Carlos da Costa. The supporters of Compostela FSCMZ booed when Coritiba Foot Ball Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Caetano Ponta didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Thiago Machado in the 83rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Almir Faria prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 85 minutes into the game, Caetano Ponta cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Almir Faria was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 88 minutes into the match, Thiago Machado had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Almir Faria. Compostela FSCMZ's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Thiago Machado was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. Fiori Tasso took the ball and in the 91 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Almir Faria. Almir Faria dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 6-0. 94 minutes into the match, Compostela FSCMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Caetano Ponta came free, but Almir Faria reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 96th minute, Thiago Machado got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Coritiba Foot Ball Club fully deserved thier win.
