Geovanni Leite charged in rather forcefully in the 2nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Geovanni Leite the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ's Luiz Tasso was substituted for Adrianinho de Salles. After a rather tough play, Joinville Esporte Clube's Geovanni Leite got a free kick in the 3rd minute. Joinville Esporte Clube's Wellington Montenegro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to save Joinville Esporte Clube from getting a goal against them. Cacá Sousa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gonçalo Catarinense, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. When the match had gone on for 26 minutes, Gonçalo Catarinense put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Cacá Sousa. 31 minutes into the match, Joinville Esporte Clube's goalkeeper Wellington Montenegro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luiz Tasso. In the 35th minute, Luiz Tasso made a precise shot to the right of Wellington Montenegro. Joinville Esporte Clube's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. 40 minutes into the game, Joinville Esporte Clube's Fausto Aguiar nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Cacá Sousa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Deivid Vaz in the 45th minute of play forced Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ's goalkeeper Cacá Sousa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Michel Varela charged in rather forcefully in the 47th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Michel Varela the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Michel Varela hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. Cacá Sousa came out of the goal in the 48th minute to try and stop a shot by Joinville Esporte Clube's Deivid Vaz. But to his dismay, Deivid Vaz quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

With 54 minutes on the clock, Tião Nóbrega commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After a rather tough play, Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ's Tião Nóbrega got a free kick in the 55th minute. The long shot by Murillo Perez in the 57th minute really tested Cacá Sousa's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Renatinho Favoretto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Cacá Sousa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fausto Aguiar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cacá Sousa having to interfere. 62 minutes into the match, Gonçalo Catarinense had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cacá Sousa. Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gonçalo Catarinense was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-4. In the 66th minute of the match Fausto Aguiar sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Cacá Sousa skillfully saved the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ's zone, Murillo Perez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cacá Sousa came out of the goal and Murillo Perez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 71stth minute of the game Gonçalo Catarinense who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ's Cacá Sousa was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 72nd minute, Joinville Esporte Clube's Deivid Vaz dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-5. Fausto Aguiar kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. Wellington Montenegro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luiz Tasso, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. 85 minutes into the game, Célio Torres was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Joinville Esporte Clube's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ the free kick. After 84 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Joinville Esporte Clube! In the 86th minute there was a penalty for Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ. Dário Simão stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Wellington Montenegro. 2-6. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Deivid Vaz in the 91st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cacá Sousa saved Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ from getting behind. Joinville Esporte Clube played a much better game than Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ and deserved their victory. The Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
