In the 20th minute Hanung Sephtianda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dani Hernández saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Ayi Kusumah stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dani Hernández came out of the goal and Ayi Kusumah tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Hanung Sephtianda could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 79th minute of the match, but Dani Hernández made a huge save. 82 minutes into the match, Antonio Failde had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Mekki Item. Indonesia's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Antonio Failde was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Indonesia's Cerdic Pintar was substituted for Ayi Kusumah. Anak Selby sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Anak Selby could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 86th minute of the match, but Dani Hernández made a huge save. Mekki Item came out of the goal in the 88th minute to try and stop a shot by Venezuela's Antonio Failde. But to his dismay, Antonio Failde quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. In the 91st minute the ball was on its way in behind Indonesia's goalkeeper Mekki Item, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Antonio Failde in the 93rd minute of play forced Indonesia's goalkeeper Mekki Item to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 95th minute Venezuela were awarded a corner. Fernando Arango went to the cornerflag to take it. Venezuela's Fernando Arango was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Mekki Item in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Indonesia's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
