Joakim Holmberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Diederick Struelens in the 6th minute of play. 14 minutes into the game, one of Purple Talents:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. An unexpectedly hard shot by Christian Lundqvist in the 17th minute of play forced Purple Talents's goalkeeper Christoph Hagemans to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Purple Talents's Brecht De Wortelaer got a free kick in the 18th minute. 24 minutes into the game, Diederick Struelens cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Joakim Holmberg was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After some careless play in the Quetzal Flyers Hammers defense, Eddy Claes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Joakim Holmberg. The Quetzal Flyers Hammers fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Joakim Holmberg should have stopped the shot. Joakim Holmberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bart De Koq in the 31st minute of play. In the 32nd minute, Diederick Struelens left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Purple Talents fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. Joakim Holmberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Yanniek Wellens, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Christoph Hagemans made a fantastic save in the 41st minute, when Patrik Johansson sent off a good shot on target. Quetzal Flyers Hammers's Joakim Holmberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Diederick Struelens in the 45th minute of play. Christoph Hagemans didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 48th minute, which inside left pole to 2-3. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 2-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Diederick Struelens made a kick off.
