The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 2nd minute, Pete Partridge hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Edward Preston made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Knut Huneck in the 6th minute of play. 7 minutes into the match, Egg Chasers FC's goal looked a bit too open when Otto Højskel came free, but Edward Preston reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 14th minute, Al Thorbek hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Randkleve booed when Egg Chasers FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Franz Hardcastle didn't get a good kick on the ball. Knut Huneck might have been able to make a better finish in the 22nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Edward Preston. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Knut Huneck ran back to his position shaking his head. Edward Preston took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Knut Huneck, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Randkleve's Petter Rykov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pete Partridge in the 25th minute of play. In the 25th minute Pete Partridge shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Petter Rykov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Edward Preston made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Knut Huneck in the 27th minute of play. 28 minutes into the game, Didrik Marslew was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Randkleve's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Egg Chasers FC the free kick. The supporters of Egg Chasers FC booed when Randkleve was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Didrik Marslew didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 31st match minute, Randkleve was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Didrik Marslew to maneuver through the defense. Don Major kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. Edward Preston made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from René Gotland in the 45th minute of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Pete Partridge made the kick off in the second half. Petter Rykov showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pete Partridge in the 54th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Egg Chasers FC's zone, Otto Højskel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Edward Preston came out of the goal and Otto Højskel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 66 minutes into the match, Randkleve's Knut Huneck sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Edward Preston narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Petter Rykov took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pete Partridge, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 75th minute Bradley Blueman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Petter Rykov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 76th minute of the game. One of Randkleve:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Egg Chasers FC:s goal. Petter Rykov went to the wrong direction when Don Major was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Randkleve's Petter Rykov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bradley Blueman in the 82nd minute of play. After some careless play in the Randkleve defense, Bradley Blueman kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Petter Rykov. The Randkleve fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Petter Rykov should have stopped the shot. René Gotland received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Edward Preston tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
