After having played for 7 minutes, Anísio Alagoano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Castanheiro SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Anísio Alagoano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 7 minutes into the match, Castanheiro SC's Anísio Alagoano sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Per-Olof Walroth narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Ture Finsberg fell near the penalty area in the 8th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Strömsbro IF's protests and gave Ture Finsberg a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Strömsbro IF getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Ture Finsberg hit a great ball. Benedito Mineiro might have been able to make a better finish in the 12th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Per-Olof Walroth. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Benedito Mineiro ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 15th minute of the match Strömsbro IF got a corner. Castanheiro SC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Edvin Albom ran over to the corner to take the kick. A well-hit corner resulted in Thomas Lövkvist heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Strömsbro IF's Per-Olof Walroth played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Umberto Dionísio in the 19th minute of play. After 21 minutes of play, Strömsbro IF's Thomas Lövkvist made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Pedrinho Guimarães was left in no man's land by his defense there! Castanheiro SC's Pedrinho Guimarães played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Thomas Lövkvist in the 27th minute of play. Anísio Alagoano came free with the goalkeeper in the 36th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Per-Olof Walroth could save by the left post. After 37 minutes, Anísio Alagoano mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Castanheiro SC and the Strömsbro IF players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 37th match minute, Castanheiro SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anísio Alagoano to maneuver through the defense. Castanheiro SC's Anísio Alagoano got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Per-Olof Walroth made a fantastic save in the 46th minute, when Benedito Mineiro sent off a good shot on target. 48 minutes into the match, Strömsbro IF's goalkeeper Per-Olof Walroth had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Umberto Dionísio. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Anísio Alagoano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Per-Olof Walroth having to interfere. After 54 played minutes Castanheiro SC got a freekick which was hit by Nilson Veloso. If Anísio Alagoano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Castanheiro SC's Marcelo Eger was substituted for Magno Pereira. Castanheiro SC's Pedrinho Guimarães played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hannes Larsson in the 63rd minute of play. Castanheiro SC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Benedito Mineiro in the 67th minute. A collision led to Strömsbro IF getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Magne Håkansson hit a great ball. Benedito Mineiro took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 73rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Per-Olof Walroth. Strömsbro IF's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 78th match minute, Strömsbro IF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Philip Gallin to maneuver through the defense. If Benedito Mineiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 83 minutes into the match, Mauro Sarmento notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Strömsbro IF's Per-Olof Walroth. Per-Olof Walroth was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Strömsbro IF's Per-Olof Walroth played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mauro Sarmento in the 86th minute of play. In the 95th minute, Mauro Sarmento hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
