Baykan Erincer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Faas Wilkes, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. The audience was convinced that Faas Wilkes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Baykan Erincer was relentless in the 71st minute of the game. In the 77th minute Kazimierz Traczewski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcus Ekrot saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vykans Vikingar's Marcus Ekrot played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wilbur Bain in the 90th minute of play. In the 91st minute, Vykans Vikingar's Alessandro Micucci ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Baykan Erincer. Baykan Erincer yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-2.
The Vykans Vikingar supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Vykans Vikingar would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
