The ball went over the crossbar instead. Atila Edu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sung McKinley, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sung McKinley in the 10th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Atila Edu saved Riquelme Fútbol Club from getting behind. Khachatryan were awarded a corner in the 11th minute after Riquelme Fútbol Club's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Marquis Kenny took the corner. Khachatryan's Albert Paulíny was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Atila Edu in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 14th minute Augusto Oalo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jermaine Richmond saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Atila Edu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tigran Kirakosyan's shot from short distance in the 17th minute. In the 18thth minute of the game Merlin Castro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Riquelme Fútbol Club's Atila Edu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience was convinced that Sung McKinley's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Atila Edu was relentless in the 23rd minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Merlin Castro in the 29th minute of play forced Riquelme Fútbol Club's goalkeeper Atila Edu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Atila Edu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Merlin Castro, who was totally free with the ball in the 49th minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sung McKinley to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Genaro Suarez in the 60th minute of play forced Khachatryan's goalkeeper Jermaine Richmond to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Khachatryan booed when Riquelme Fútbol Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bernardino Orlanda didn't get a good kick on the ball. Merlin Castro received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Atila Edu came out and tried to block the shot, but Merlin Castro slotted it home off the left post making it 0-3 in the 70th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Genaro Suarez in the 79th minute of play forced Khachatryan's goalkeeper Jermaine Richmond to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Atila Edu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sung McKinley, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. Khachatryan's Jermaine Richmond played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Genaro Suarez in the 86th minute of play. Riquelme Fútbol Club were awarded a corner in the 87th minute after Khachatryan's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Bernardino Orlanda took the corner. Sung McKinley who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 93rdth minute tested the skills of Atila Edu when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 97th minute Eduardo Salvi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jermaine Richmond saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Khachatryan supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Khachatryan would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
